HDMI High Definition Multimedia Interface HDMI


  The HDMI standard, enhanced and high definition video and multi-channel audio signals carried over a single cable supports. DVB-T, DVB-C or DVB-S/S2 publications that come with video and sound (audio) signal structure of the dissolved TV, monitor staff, such as image interface is a digital transmission. Video transmission for any compression process does not occur to minimize losses.

  HDMI, in 2002, Hitachi, Matsushita Electric Industrial (Panasonic / National / Quasar), Philips, Silicon Image, Sony, Thomson (RCA) and Toshiba companies as a result of collaboration has emerged with the development of DVI connector. The content protection technology as DVI connector HDCP support is added.


 
High resolution images to carry only video signals for DVI and YPbPr interface to move. This smaller connector on the audio signals transmitted can be built and developed the HDMI interface.   The first authorized testing center [Authorized Testing Center (ATC)], was opened by the U.S. company Silicon Image, and was continued by Philips in Europe.

 

    HDMI connectivity products you can do:

          >> Playstation, XBox, such as game consoles, PSP, PS3

                >> Mini HDMI output cameras. HDMI-C, type C HDMI, HDMI-C connector output devices

 

  Formats supported by the HDMI interface

  HDMI in the world all broadcast formats (ATSC, PAL, NTSC, etc..) Supports. [PAL is used in Turkey.] 120 Hz scan rate with the resolution supporting the format are: 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and 1440p.

 

HDCP: HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) compatibility, is defined to protect content.

 

HDMI Connector: 3 different connector is designed with HDMI:

 

- HDMI Tip A: 19 pins. A standard HDMI cable's connector type.

 

- HDMI Tip B: Although improved, they were not used.


- HDMI Tip C: Is named as Mini HDMI. Is designed for portable devices. It has got 19 pins such as Type A, only the size is smaller.

 

HDMI Version: HDMI was started with 1.0, and 1.1, 1.2, 1.3a, 13.b versions are available now. Cables currently used 1.2, 1.3a, 1.3b is the version.

 HDMI version 1.4 of the announcement was made in the last few days. HEC name is included in a given technology is more. HEC, HDMI Ethernet Channel supports data transfer to 100Mbps between devices will allow. This standard uses the internet connection sharing between devices or HDTV broadcasts can be provided. HDMI 1.4 with 4096 × 2160 pixel resolution 30 Hz'te can be transferred. HDMI 1.4 in the last quarter of 2010 at the earliest fame is expected to rise.
